Counters from 3D printers will be able to replace today’s improvised market counters in the future, according to models presented today at a special event of the Pannatic Federation of Market Sellers’ Associations (POSPLA) for the creation of new, prototype, counters, within the framework of the collaboration with the University of Western Attica (PA.D.A.)

As stated on the federation’s online page, Professor Panagiotis Pangalos together with the students of the Industrial Design department of PADA, presented at the federation’s offices nine different proposals, in a digital imprint accompanied by the corresponding models.

The benches of the future impressed “as much for their modern design and practicality as for their durability and usability”.

In the relevant post it is noted that the benches that were presented require very little cost for their construction (some of them could be created on 3D printers), they offer resistance that exceeds 700 kg of product, the weight of the benches themselves does not exceed as a whole 25 to 35 kilos while they consist of three or even four pieces so that each seller can fully comply with the permitted length of his counter.

At the same time, the new benches can only be installed by one person while there is a provision that the space they occupy in the transport vehicle is minimal.

At the same time, their energy autonomy has been foreseen with modern means friendly to the environment.

In the coming months and after everyone’s proposals have been completed, the selection and qualification of some of them by a competent committee will follow, immediately after that it will be the turn of creating the prototypes which will be tested in the field in order to draw the final conclusions and from there to lay the foundations for the completion and implementation of the relevant study for their supply.
