The e-Peitharxika application was launched today, Thursday, January 11, at a special event held at National Transparency Authority (EAD).

Through the application, it is possible to supervise and monitor the course of the disciplinary process as well as the outcome of disciplinary cases, in the State, with the aim of delivering disciplinary justice faster and more efficiently.

It also becomes possible to systematically monitor from a single point the disciplinary process and the outcome of cases, before single member disciplinary bodies and disciplinary boards, at all stages.

At the same time, the full and uniform application of disciplinary law is ensured, while it is possible to analyze data and cross-reference information to make informed decisions.

The special event was held in the presence of the Minister of the Interior Nikis Kerameos, the Deputy Minister Vivis Charalambogiannis, the Deputy Director of the National Security Agency Alexandra Rogaku and the Secretary General of Public Administration Dimitris Kirmikiroglou.

The e-Peitharxika electronic application is a valuable tool not only for speeding up but also for evaluating the disciplinary process. Its use enables us to see the points that may need improvement and to undertake redesign initiatives with the aim of more efficient and faster administration of disciplinary justice“, said Mrs. Kerameos.

As mentioned, with the use of the application, both the number and the completion time of the Preliminary Examinations and the Sworn Administrative Examinations that are being conducted, as well as their outcome, become known. At the same time, data is collected regarding the usual disciplinary offences, the penalties imposed, the comparative treatment of disciplinary cases, the detection of any incidents of “delinquency” in the services, the execution of disciplinary decisions/penalties, cases of statute of limitations and their causes, the cases pending before the Disciplinary Boards, their trial time and the reasons for the delay.

The main objective of this reform is summarized in two main axes:

– On the one hand, to assist the competent officials in monitoring the entire course of the disciplinary process, in order to identify any distortions and pathologies and to improve its overall operation.

– On the other hand, to strengthen the work of the Ministry of the Interior and the EAD in the direction of shielding transparency and accountability at every stage of the process.

The pilot use of the application included the following agencies: Ministry of Finance, Independent Public Revenue Authority, Municipality of Athens, e-EFKA, Region of Central Macedonia, Secondary Disciplinary Council of the Ministry of the Interior, and already 1,104 users and a number of disciplinary cases have been registered.

The implementation of this application carried out entirely by the National Transparency Authorityrelying exclusively on the same forces.
