“We are waiting for the tender for the supercomputers to come out today and the wonderful journey for Greece begins, which acquires one of the five strongest systems in Europe” pointed out the Minister of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, in the context of the ATHENS RIVIERA FORUM 2024, referring to the supercomputer DAEDALUS.

At the same time, he spoke about the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, saying that “we will join forces, take and give both sides good practices and good ideas that exist to work together».

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy of Cyprus, Nikodimos Damianou, pointed out that “it is a practical and not a theoretical Memorandum of Cooperation. I think we have to draw examples from those who have succeeded in some areas better”. He even underlined that the gov.gr wallet will be used as a basis for the Digital Citizen application in Cyprus.

Mr. Papastergiou, speaking about successful, for now, examples of artificial intelligence applications, referred to mAI gov, which can and does answer any question in 30 official languages.

Mr. Damianou underlined that “artificial intelligence is the new programming language with which we will develop software».

Having in fact a model of Presenting the Digital Assistant, Mr. Damianou emphasized that the first version of the Digital Assistant will be on the new government portal gov.cy, “it will be presented in July and there the citizen will be able to find all the digital services concentrated Digital Citizen, who will respond to issues of social welfare, employment etc. and we will add services to respond to other issues as well”. Other initiatives are smart Cyprus, a platform project on smart lighting, parking, waste management.
