The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) 2024organized by Certiportand took place from July 28 to 31 in Anaheim, California, USA, bringing together contestants from dozens of countries.

Greece was represented by three talented students: 15-year-old Christos Vecchio, student of the 1st Lyceum, the 20-year-old Frangiska Kiminoua student at the Polytechnic University, and Kassiani Kouretsi, student of the 3rd Lyceum, who competed in the categories of Word, Excel and PowerPoint (2019 edition) respectively.

Christos Vekios, guided by his coach Dimitris Vergo of Techno Helpu Techno-kidsachieved a major distinction, taking 9th place in the Microsoft Word (Office 2019) category worldwide and 2nd place in the EMEA region.

Frangiska Kiminou, also coached by Dimitris Vergos, and Kassiani Kouretsi, coached by Panagiotis Aslanidis, also had notable performances in their units. These performances once again put Greece in the top ten of the global ranking, confirming the high quality of Greek education in technological skills.

Participants had the opportunity to live a unique experience, participating in educational seminars and social events, exchanging ideas with peers from all over the world. The awards ceremony was the highlight of the competition where the top contestants were awarded for their outstanding performances.

During the trip, the participants stayed at the famous Disneyland Resort and had the opportunity to visit the massive Disney park using the tickets provided to them. In addition, they visited Hollywood and Santa Monica Beach, thus turning their trip into an experience of a lifetime.

Students plan to use this experience to further their studies and continue to excel. The Microsoft Office Specialist Championship offers an excellent opportunity for those who want to showcase their IT talent.
