The majority of Greek users of AI have a very positive attitude towards its impact on society, while over time, the percentage of Greeks who have not formed any opinion on AI has decreased by more than 50%. This, among other things, shows a new Pan-Hellenic Survey on: “Greeks and Artificial Intelligence: Attitudes & Impact”which was conducted by Focus Bari.

According to the survey results, the public expects that the use of AI will bring about improvements in a wide variety of industries, and especially in e-commerce it will improve both the better management and operation of the store and the customer-consumer experience.

At the same time, today, one in two Greeks use IT tools pioneered by ChatGPTand knowledgeable-users have a better view of IT and an increased belief that it helps them in their career/professional development.

Despite its positive aspects, however, it is expected that Artificial Intelligence can lead to misinformation and fraud, a view that is equally embraced by the public that uses it, and for this reason, almost all Greeks believe that there should be strict protection measures. For users, the use of IT tools does not necessarily imply trust in these tools and thus the need for strict regulations and measures to protect against malicious use is recorded.

At the same time, Artificial Intelligence seems to constitute threatening for a large portion of Greeks, who believe that Artificial Intelligence could replace their work in the future and bring about possible job losses.

Overall, according to the results of the research, it is found that:

  • Those who know more have a more positive attitude.
  • One in two Greeks use at least one Artificial Intelligence tool with the ChatGPT to stand out as the most popular.
  • TN opens up new professional horizons for most Greeks, especially for its users, boosting skills and opportunities.
  • In his field e-commerceTN is expected to enhance the operation of the stores and improve the customer experience, in line with the expectations of the Greeks.
  • Despite the excitement, the evolution of AI is causing concern possible job losses and the increased threat of fraud.
  • The need for tight regulation is universal, with over three in five citizens to require measures to protect against malicious use and misinformation.
