In 2024, Bulgarian science students won 91 medals: 11 gold, 40 silver and 40 bronze, in competition with the best students in the world, the Association of Olympic Science Teams announced.

“It is important to underline that only in the most prestigious competitions of the year, namely the International Olympiads of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Biology, Linguistics, Astrophysics and Astronomy, and from this year – Artificial Intelligence, Bulgarian students won 40 medals: 2 gold , 14 silver and 24 bronze awards“, noted this association.

Among the awards for 2024 are two silver medals won by Bulgarian teams in the European Olympiad of Experimental Natural Sciences, three medals in the European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls, three medals in the Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad, eight medals in the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, six medals in the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad Youth, three medals at the International Biology Olympiad, five medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad, three medals at the European Girls’ Informatics Olympiad, four medals at the European Physics Olympiad, five medals at the International Physics Olympiad, four medals and second place in the world for Viktor Lilov in International Chemistry Olympiad.

In addition, Bulgarian students won six medals at the International Linguistics Olympiad, two bronze medals won by Bulgarian teams at the 1st International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, four medals at the European Youth Informatics Olympiad, five medals at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad, four medals at the International Informatics Olympiad, four medals at the Balkan Informatics Olympiad, five medals at the International Youth Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad.
