After many users’ prompts in recent years, Google has returned to Android a very useful feature using Apple’s iPhone mobile phones and Samsung’s Galaxy series.

This is widgets (graphics) on the lock screen that allow the user information at a glance, without bothering to enter Home Screen.

Google had first added this feature in 2012 to the version of its Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, but removed it in version 5 citing security reasons.

In 2022, Apple introduced graphics on the iPhone lock screen on iOS 16, followed by Samsung with the One UI 6 and Chinese companies. However, the inherent support for Android is expected to allow many software companies Widgets on the lock screen in their applications, Something that is not happening today.

Google says widgets will return to smartphones and tablets and the start is with the Pixel Tablet.

The Android 16 is still in a Beta test version, with official release expected in June.
