In the complete activation of Cooperation signed in October 2024 with the Google proceeds the National and Kapodistrian University of Athensinaugurating a series of educational actions aimed at deepening knowledge and utilizing it Artificial intelligence (Ai) in the academic and research area.

The first of these actions took place on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the Argyriadis Amphitheater of the Central Building of the University of Athens with the participation of academic staff who had expressed interest. The inaugural theme was entitled “Productivity Enhancement with the Use of Artificial Intelligence”, and is part of the thematic series of seminars entitled “Ai Awareness and Academic Innovation”.

This series of seminars aims to systematically familiarize the academic community with the basic principles, applications and capabilities of artificial intelligence, focusing on its contribution to the educational process, scientific research and strategic development of university structures. The activities are aimed at all members of the University of Athens, including circles for teachers, researchers, doctoral and postgraduate students, undergraduate students as well as administrative staff.

It is worth noting that 11% of the world’s leading researchers are Greeks and most of them are graduates of the University of Athens.

The event was welcomed by the Rector of the University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siasos, Marketing Manager at Google Greece, Theodoros Damianidis, and Vice -Rector of the University of Athens, Professor Efstathios Efstathopoulos.

This initiative is a continuation of the existing cooperation of the NCSR with Google, which began with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2024, with the aim of shaping a common framework for educational and research activities in the rapidly developing field of artificial intelligence.
