A new shopping center exclusively with robots opened in Beijing, selling everything, from butler engineers to humanoid copies of Albert Einstein.
At Robot Mall there are more than 100 types of “like true” robots for all tastes and needs. In fact, the store is one of the first in the country – and the first in the world – to sell smart, humanoid and consumer robots.
Visitors – potential buyers will be able to interact with a wide variety of robots, including pets, dinosaurs, musicians and chess players, as the store officials said.
Market prices range from 2,000 yuan ($ 278) to several millions of yuan. The store also offers services such as spare parts and maintenance for buyers of a robot.
China has invested significantly in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), as it is trying to overcome challenges such as slowing economic growth and population aging.
State subsidies in the robotics industry exceeds $ 20 billion in the last year. In addition, the Chinese government is planning a 1 trillion fund for newly established artificial intelligence and robotics.
The inauguration of the Robot Mall coincides with the launch of the five -day World Robotics Conference, which began in Beijing today, Friday.
China’s state media reported that this year’s event will be involved in more than 1,500 exhibits from more than 200 local and foreign robotics.
Beijing is also preparing to host the first world -wide human robots from August 14th to August 17th.
