London: Doom on the first day of operation of the “Elizabeth” line – Subway station evacuated

by

Alarm signaled this morning at Paddington Station in London, where crowds were gathered to use the new subway line named after Queen Elizabeth.

Just two hours after the departure of the first train of the new line, videos that circulated on the Internet showed that the central station of London was evacuated, while in the background an alarm was heard.

Passengers who were there shared photos that showed firefighters reaching the spot, while a citizen claimed that “someone had pressed the alarm”.

Early in the morning, crowds had gathered at the station to take the first train of the new “Elizabeth” line, which left at 6:33 a.m.

The docks opened at 6:20 a.m. and about 500 people rushed to get on the train, while staff tried to enforce order by shouting “please, do not run.”

According to the Daily Mail, the queue of people had begun to form by midnight.

In the morning, those who were first in line and waited up to six hours, rushed into the station to be able to get on the first train at 6.33 am.

Huge queues had also formed at Abbey Wood, where the first train departed at 6.30am.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan arrived to greet the crowds shortly after 6am and spoke to those in front of the queue.
