The American businessman, philanthropist and founder of the Open Society Foundation George Soros from the podium of the World Economic Forum in Davos called “as soon as possible” to defeat the Vladimir Putin in Ukraine, as in his view “it is the best and possibly the only possibility to preserve our own culture”.
Soros characterized him war in Ukraine as a possible beginning of the Third World War, calling it the main conflict of our time, between the “open societies” in which it includes the majority of Western countries and the “closed societies” in which it classifies Russia and the China. “In an open society the state defends the freedom of the individual, in a closed society the role of the individual is to serve the interests of the state,” Soros said, describing the differences between the two types of societies.
