A bomb blast near the northern city of Afghanistan has killed at least nine people and injured 15 others

At least nine people were killed today in three bombings on three minibuses in Mazar-i-Sharifthe largest city in northern Afghanistan, police said.

“The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station, killing three people and wounding 15 others,” said Balkh provincial police spokesman Asif Waziri, adding that 15 people had been injured.

Another bomb blast rocked a mosque in the capital Kabul tonight, killing at least two people and wounding 10, the interior ministry said.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the four bombings.

The number of attacks in the country has decreased since the Taliban took power last August, but a series of deadly bombings, in which dozens of people were killed, hit the country in late April, during the holy month of Ramadan. Islamic State claimed responsibility for some of the attacks.
