The British will celebrate its Platinum Jubilee with a series of events Queen Elizabethie the completion of 70 years on the throne.
The beginning will take place on Thursday, which, like Friday, has been declared an official holiday, with the military ceremony Trooping the Color.
This is a ceremony that has been held since the 17th century to honor the birthday of each monarch. This year, more than 1,500 officers and soldiers of the Royal House Division with 350 horses will participate, as well as about 400 musicians from ten military bands.
If the queen entrusts the inspection of the enlisted soldiers to another member of the royal family, it will be the first time this has happened in the 70 years of her reign.
At the end of the ceremony, the Queen and active members of the royal family will appear on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to greet the crowd and watch the traditional overflight of dozens of fighters in her honor.
Torches will be lit in several parts of the United Kingdom on Thursday night. The central torch will be lit outside Buckingham Palace, on a specially constructed 21-meter-high sculpture. It will have been preceded and will follow the lighting of torches in Commonwealth countries.
On Friday morning, a thanksgiving Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Cathedral, where he hopes the Queen will also attend. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Megan, who will travel from the USA, as well as Prince Andrew are expected to appear there.
A reception will follow at the historic Guildhall, the building that houses the City of London.
The 96-year-old queen will also spend time with Sussex daughter Lilibette, who will turn one year old on Saturday. It will be the first time Elizabeth will meet her great-granddaughter.
The annual horse races will take place on Saturday afternoon at Epsom, the famous Derby, the queen’s favorite event. According to the Sunday Times, however, Elizabeth will not attend this year, despite the fact that honorary events were being prepared in front of her.
However, the queen will participate again this year as a horse owner, with the horse Just Fine in the penultimate race.
The big “BBC Party” will take place on Saturday night, a pop and rock concert on stage just opposite the entrance to Buckingham Palace, with 22,000 spectators.
Other artists will include Queen with Adam Lambert, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli, Duran Duran, Craig David, Elbow and George Ezra. Also appearing on stage will be Britain’s “national treasures” Sir David Attenborough, the Queen’s peer environmentalist and TV presenter, veteran footballer David Beckham, award-winning actor Adrienne P ) Steven Fry, as well as the new star of British tennis Emma Radukanu.
The Queen will be watching the televised concert at Windsor Castle.
The festivities will close on Sunday with over 200,000 outdoor picnics and organized meals among citizens in the country’s neighborhoods, as part of the Big Jubilee Lunch.
The last official event, the Jubilee Pageant, will take place in the afternoon, a carnival-like parade in the streets between Parliament and Buckingham Palace.
The parade will be attended by more than 10,000 people, including the Golden Horse of 1762, which carried Elizabeth to the coronation ceremony on June 2, 1953. The carriage, which will appear on the streets of London from the Golden Jubilee of 2002, will project on its windows scenes from the coronation ceremony.
The parade will end musically. The organizers hope that Queen Elizabeth will be able to appear once again on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch Ed Sheeran and a choir consisting of 200 celebrities to sing the national anthem.
