Russia ready to export wheat, but does not want to have it confiscated, Russian Security Council Vice-President says

Russia is ready to export grainbut must exempt from any sanctions, said Russian Vice President Dmitry Medvedev.

Russia is ready to export wheat, but does not want it confiscated, said the vice-president of the Russian Security Council, accusing Western leaders of engaging in a “Russophobia contest”.

“Do they (Western countries) want us to export wheat, for example, to confiscate it later?” he wondered. That scenario, he said, is “impossible.”

In his words, the global food situation has deteriorated “as a result of sanctions imposed by the Western world.”

“We are told to ‘go ahead and export’, but at the same time, our merchant ships are not being serviced and efforts are being made to seize our property.” continued the Russian official.

“The question is how we will transport it (the wheat) and whether it will be affected by the sanctions. So, in this case, the ball is now in their court, in the West court, “said Medvedev.

Unbridled Russophobia is a common phenomenon

He also urged the lifting of “stupid fertilizer sanctions”. “They impose sanctions first and then they are afraid and lift them. Why; Because they realize that in this situation, nothing will happen. ” said Medvedev.

“Those who make decisions about imposing restrictions should be guided by common sense, not unbridled Russophobia“, which has become a common occurrence in most (western) countries: abroad, in the United States but also in Europe, whose political leaders seem to be taking part in some sort of contest over who is the biggest Russophobe.”

He insisted that the situation (with the reduction) of food on the planet began to deteriorate about five or seven years ago and Russia is not responsible for this. «This was due to many reasons – macroeconomic miscalculations, poor crops, climate change, decisions made by some governments that were sometimes not very correct. It all started then “ claimed the former president of Russia.

He said he had discussed these issues with international partners, including those with friendly relations with Moscow. “By the way, in terms of number and population, friendly countries outnumber those that are currently hostile to our state,” he said.
