The Queen thanked all who attended to celebrate her Platinum Anniversary as the end of the four-day weekend drew to a close.
His Majesty said he felt “humility” in front of the millions of people who marked historical moments in his honor.
He said his heart goes out to everyone across the country, even if he missed most of the events due to mobility issues.
The head of state, known for his good sense of humor, also joked that “there is no guide” to governing for 70 years after becoming Britain’s first monarchy.
Her heartfelt statement reads, “There is no guideline to follow on how to celebrate 70 years as your queen. Definitely the first.
“But I was humbled and deeply saddened that so many took to the streets to celebrate Platinum’s anniversary.
“I may not have personally attended all the events, but my heart goes out to all of you. And I stayed loyal and supported by my family. I will do my best to serve you.
“I am inspired by the kindness, joy and kinship that has become evident recently, and I hope this newfound sense of unity will be felt for years to come.
