The man was waiting for help to disembark from the flight of himself and his wife, but the authorities left him alone
A passenger with a disability died tragically as he fell from escalator at Gatwick Airportafter disembarking from his flight when he was dropped off on an EasyJet plane.
The man was waiting for help to disembark from the flight of himself and his wife, but the authorities left him alone. His partner had already been disembarked from the plane by Wilson security staff – a private company that helps disabled passengers.
His death is the first to be linked to the travel chaos that is sweeping airports across the country.
As the “Daily Mail” writes about the incident, “a crew member came to pick up a woman at the airport, but the man stayed on the plane. He must not have wanted to wait for the staff member to return and so he entered the terminal alone. So, while he was on the escalator, the passenger fell, resulting in serious injuries and death. This is a tragic incident that should never have happened. Someone should have helped him».
The images from the chaos prevailing in British airports have “played” in all the media of the planet. Shocking images of holidaymakers being forced to sleep on the floor of airports amid long delays.
According to one travel agent, regarding this incident, “questions should be asked about the staff who were available to assist when this flight arrived. “It shows the growing frustration of some passengers who can not wait on the planes for long periods of time hoping that help will eventually arrive.”
