A 15-year-old teenager was killed and three other people, including a police officer, were injured by bullets last Sunday night in the city of Washington after a concert, police said.

Immediately after and despite the presence of strong police forces at the scene, Shots were fired and a teenager was killed, Cody added. A police officer and two civilians were injured and taken to hospital.
There was no exchange of gunfire and the weapon used in the incident has not been found, he said.
Currently it is not clear if the teenager was the target of an attackCody explained, adding that police had seized two illegal weapons near the concert venue and were looking for a man who also had a gun in his possession without a license.
He described as “unacceptable” the fact that people who illegally possess weapons are “in large concentrations in densely populated areas”, thus posing a “danger to people who just want to enjoy the good weather, Father’s Day, our city “.

Gun violence is on the rise in the United States, with the May 24 massacre at Ovalde Elementary School in Texas being one of the most tragic. 19 students and two teachers were killed then.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 20,000 people have lost their lives to gunfire in the United States, many of whom have committed suicide, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
