Surprised by the “non-serious” methods used by Boris Johnson, the French president said when asked about the letter from the British Prime Minister asking France to accept back migrants arriving in Britain crossing the Channel, a letter that Johnson posted on Twitter.
“We do not communicate between leaders on such issues with tweets and letters that we give to the public, we are not witnesses of public interest. “Let’s get serious …”, said Emanuel Macron during the press conference he gave in Rome after the signing of a treaty with Italy.
Johnson calls on France to take back migrants crossing the English Channel
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on French President Emmanuel Macron to take back migrants arriving in France in France, a day after the deadly sinking in the English Channel, where 27 people died.
“I propose to implement a bilateral readmission agreement, which will allow the return of all illegal immigrants crossing the Channel,” Johnson said in a letter to Macron, which he posted on Twitter.

The British Prime Minister also presents the measures that the two countries could take to prevent the deaths of people in the Channel.
These include joint patrols to prevent boats leaving the French coast, the use of sensors and radar, the readmission agreement in France and a similar agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union.
