New footage shows the boy, whose parents said an abuser took him to their garden and fired him, was not telling the truth.
Six-year-old Dominic Crancal suffered two and three burns all over his body in late April.
His parents accused their eight-year-old neighbor of beating him up behind the house and setting it on fire with gasoline and a lighter.
However, one of the relatives of the boy who was accused posted a video and found that four children, including Dominique, were on fire and playing fierce soccer.
Dominique ignited a plastic cup filled with flammable liquid by hitting or stepping on it.
He fell to the ground, but footage captured by WFSB does not show other children pointing guns at him or pouring gasoline on him.
Laura Jacob, the mother of one of the other children, said:
Dominique didn’t leave there to die. “My son Lorenzo, 11, was rescued and they set fire to his face with his bare hands.”
Police in Bridgetport, Connecticut, had previously stated that there was no evidence Dominique was bullying or playing rough.
They say: “In this video, four children (6, 7, 8, 11 years old) play together in the backyard of the house.
I noticed that at least three children (6, 7, 8 years old) were playing with fire and gasoline.
Jacobs said her family had been bullied since the video was cleaning up her son and it was first reported that Dominique had been attacked.
“The police had to sit in front of the house at night so nothing would happen. They would set the house on fire and take me and my son down the street and hurt us. I said, “Jacob told WFSB.
“For the closure, for the truth now, for the closure, I want you to have it there. They came out with the truth and did not spend their children for money.
“It’s sad to be able to wrap a child around him and fool him around the world. It’s very sad.”
Meanwhile, Dominique, who has been released from the hospital and has recovered, thanked people in a Facebook video last week for donating nearly $600,000 to the online fundraiser.
He states: “Thank you for all the prayers and all the gifts that made me feel good. And thanks for the money to buy a house. I like all of you.”
The police continue to investigate the case and further investigations may be carried out in the future.
