Morocco announced that 18 migrants lost their lives yesterday, Friday, in their attempt to reach the Spanish enclave of Melilla (on the north coast of Africa), during which clashes broke out with security forces.

In addition, 140 members of Morocco’s security forces were injured, five of them seriously, when they intervened to prevent the mass entry of migrants into the enclave.
Nearly 2,000 migrants tried to enter the Spanish enclave of Melilla from Morocco on Friday morning, and about 130 of them succeeded in the first attempt at mass entry after the normalization of relations between Madrid and Rabat.
