White refused the request and removed Hoganson from his home before calling police.

At the time, Hoganson had already stolen Lewis’s hat and designer jacket from one of Mr. White’s homes before being arrested by the police.

Nicholas Lane defended him in court, saying he had a drink downtown that night, missed the last bus, and regretted his actions.

“This is a sad case in many ways,” Lane said.

Mr. Lane explained how Hoganson, who was cared for as a child, dealt with the trauma of alcohol and drug addiction.

He added:

In 1987, he starred in the Hollywood movie Empire State, but was unable to cope with his success in that role.

“Since then, his life has spiraled out of control.

Judge Sarah Mallett said caring for Hoganson undermined her well-being, undermined “her view of the world of film” and spiraled her life into addiction.

The judge did not believe Hoganson could be rehabilitated at this time and said immediate detention was the only appropriate decision, but urged him to seek support from the authorities upon his release.

Judge Mallet told Hoganson, “You’re alive and you’re lucky.”

The Empire State producer contacted Hoganson’s drama teacher before filming to find the Jod actor.

Before he was cast in this part, 100 teenagers participated in this part.

Hoganson played the role of Georges Drifterpit in a 1980s London drama.
