Jill Biden – Mareva Mitsotaki: Forces join forces to support women and children from Ukraine

Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotaki, Jill Biden and the wife of Belgian Prime Minister Anik Penders discussed in Madrid the creation of a platform for psychological support for women and children from Ukraine.

The creation of a platform for psychological support of women and children who lived through the horrors of the war in Ukraine was discussed at a working breakfast on Wednesday in Madrid by the Prime Minister’s wife, Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakiwith the Jill Bidenwife of the American President and Anick Pederswife of the Prime Minister of Belgium.

According to government sources, during the working morning, on the sidelines of the NATO Summit, the difficult situation of women and girls in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion was discussed and it was decided to create a mental health platform for psychological support, which will operate under the auspices of the United Nations with the participation of volunteers.

Mental health services will be provided to women and children who have either witnessed war crimes, experienced the horrors of war invasion and atrocities, such as rape, or remained in their homes for more than 3 months due to the war and have need for psychological support.

Through the Mental Health Platform, UN-backed professional volunteers will be able to assist women and children both in Ukraine and in refugee camps set up in neighboring countries.
