Of the victims of the Amtrak disaster in Missouri, two were identified as sisters who were standing up to use the toilets on the train.

Rachel Cook, 58, and Kim Horsapur, 56, of Desoto, Kansas, have had their first vacations in recent years. When the train derailed Monday and 150 passengers were injured, they were traveling to Chicago with their mother and Horsapur’s daughter.

“Kim, she and Rachel went to the bathroom with Tiffany and waited their turn. The train derailed, often slipping hundreds of feet and killing both of their mothers while saving Tiffany,” Holsapple said, said Jim Hart, her partner. I wrote it on Facebook with reference to my daughter.

Hart said four travelers packed their clothes, snacks and a list of jobs left for him and other families left behind.

The sisters were killed and the mother and daughter of one of the victims were taken to hospital.

“My mother, Pauline, who was still sitting on it, was also injured and had to be hospitalized,” Hart said in a Daily Mail post. More injuries were reported and another passenger died a day later.

Cook and Holsapur died at the scene with Billy Burton II, 54, a truck driver in Brookfield, Missouri. Binfam, 82, a fourth passenger in Kansas City, Missouri, died at a hospital on Tuesday.

Hart described his mother as a “good woman” on the GoFundMe page, covering the cost of her death.

“They were excited to be together for years on their first trip. It was their four day escape,” Hart wrote.

“They leave behind many loved ones, including children and grandchildren.”

When eight vehicles flipped when a train traveling at 90 mph collided with a railroad crossing in Mendon, there were about 275 passengers and dozens of crew members on board. The train began its journey in Los Angeles.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol Police, the hospitalized passengers suffered “injuries ranging from minor injuries to serious injuries.”
