A passenger from Tui who had been stationed in Turkey for 51 hours said the tour operator had a tourist stuck on a transfer bus where the driver was swimming around with a bottle of beer.

Kieran Booth and his wife Kenya say they were treated like “prisoners” at Dalman at the end of a week off between serious setbacks.

As I left the Liberty Hotel on Friday June 24, my desk told me that my flight back to Manchester airport would be 8 hours late at 1:45 PM.

They finally picked up at 9:30 p.m. after authorities reported that another plane had returned home from the resort on the southwest coast at 2:00 p.m.

Kieran, 24, said: “I arrived at the airport at 11pm but no one was checking my luggage.

“In the end, the woman came out of the shower, covered her face with both hands in shock and said the flight was cancelled, she didn’t know why.

In the cold, babies, children, the elderly and people with disabilities camped out on the ground.

After 3 hours they gave you bottled water, and after 40 minutes they came out and gave you two slices of chicken with fries, but that wasn’t enough to get you in.

“We got stuck there for 6 hours and then got on the bus for a 5 hour drive to another hotel in Antalya to cancel another flight. They both had 2 days at work. They lost.

Kieran, from Shipley, Yorkshire, said the Antalya-bound bus was dirty and the driver was drinking from the green beer bottle behind the wheel.

He provided a photo showing a man taking a stick as he moved to another lodging.

“We asked which hotel we were going to, but they refused. They gave us no information,” Kieran said.

“No wagon was from Tui. They were small and could carry up to 20 people each. There were stains on the floor and on the chairs and they were full of flies.

“It took me six hours to get to the second hotel in Turkey. On the way, the driver was calling for a beer.

“He was detained by the police for about 20 minutes. They talked and the policeman gave him some tickets before letting us go.

The couple eventually returned from Antalya on TOM 991, arriving on Sunday night, two days after canceling their first flight.

“It’s as shocking as we are, but no one was responsible for it,” Kieran said.

“It could have been a great place to go, but I just remember how it was treated at the end.

“You book with a big operator because they think they will take care of you, but you stay for hours on the airport floor with no blankets and hardly any food and water. We are like prisoners. I felt like I was waiting for Tui’s answer again. .

Airlines including easyJet and British Airways have also canceled hundreds of flights to and from the UK in the last four weeks.

On Tuesday, he reported how other Tui holidaymakers were delayed 43 hours at Norwich airport before reaching Mallorca. Rising vacation demand and continued airline staffing shortages after pandemic restrictions were lifted are due to delays.

A spokesperson for Tui said:

“If there is a change in vacation, our goal is to contact you as soon as possible and provide transportation, lodging, meals and meals as needed.

“We understand that last minute delays can be very frustrating and we would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
