Chile: 286 salaries were mistakenly paid and went up in smoke

Mistakes are made even in payroll and not always downwards… As in the case of a man from Chilewhich was paid by error much more than that salary of. In fact, the saying “after removal from the treasury, no mistake is recognized” seemed to apply.

So the Chilean was surprised to see in his bank account that he was paid not one, not two but 286 salaries. When they found out from the accounting department they informed him to return the 285 wages and he even promised his employer to return them, however he disappeared from the face of the earth.

His company paid him approx 165,398,851 Chilean pesos instead of 500,000 pesos. Although in euro terms, the amounts are not large, but negligible, for the cost of living in Chile, they are so large that he can take them and disappear.

The management of the company did not manage – despite many attempts – to contact its (former) employee again, while dozens of messages were sent to him on WhatsApp.

The company is now trying to get its money back through legal channels.
