He remains unconvinced Boris Johnson in his decision not to resign as British Prime Minister even after the urgings of friendly ministers who told him that he had lost the party’s confidence.
Sky News and ITV reported that Mr Johnson he answered in the negative to ministers who visited him in Downing Street to ask him to resign, saying the summer should be used to deliver economic growth and not be lost in a succession race.
Among the ministers who have asked him to leave are said to be his very close ally Priti Patel, the Home Secretary, and Nadeem Zahawi, who was only installed by Mr Johnson on Tuesday to replace resigned Finance Minister Rishi Sunak.
Dramatic developments in the British Prime Minister’s office followed them as a whole 38 resignations of ministersdeputy ministers and parliamentary secretaries of ministers from Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening.
If Mr Johnson sticks to his post, then his political future is expected to be decided early next week. THE Commission 1922the Tories’ statutory body, decided on Wednesday not to immediately change the rules to allow a new impeachment trial against Boris Johnson, but brought forward an election to Monday to elect its new line-up.
It is believed that soon after this election, the rules will change so that Boris Johnson will be subject to a second internal party confidence vote after the one in early June.
