Vladimirputin is reportedly recruiting convicted murderers and former army spies to strengthen his army on the battlefield in Ukraine.
Hundreds of prisoners are said to have been recruited to meet that number, with many agreeing to apply for amnesty in return.
The recruiters are believed to include former GRU military intelligence agencies and other special forces personnel with military experience.
The Russian president is also believed to have paved the way for violent crimes such as the murder of previously shunned prisoners.
Despite the millions of Russian soldiers, the recruitment process has intensified amid huge losses and a shortage of combat-ready troops.
The FSB security service, once headed by Putin, is reported to have been involved as well.
Selected prisoners are sent to the war zone and trained for two weeks before being placed in a front-line “assault group.”
“Some were chosen by the exile chief. They were released into detention camps against their will and were “invited” to speak.
“These were former participants in the war, or people with a fairly high rank.
To others, the officer on duty simply said: “Whoever wants to go to war, go and give your name.”
The recruitment took place in the city of Bol, Nizhny Novgorod, where about 300 prisoners wanted to participate.
“They explain it by their desire to have amnesty for their families and children and live normally after returning home,” say the relatives.
It is known that at least one convicted murderer was sent to the Donbus front, promising to clear criminal records after six months of work.
Those who decide to fight the Russian army are promised almost £3,000, but their families receive £64,000 if they die.
Recruitment also takes place in St. Petersburg prisons called Yablonevka, Obukhovo and Fornosovo.
