The main newscasts of the Italian public television Rai, in connection with Circo Massimo, showed, after all, that the vast majority of spectators were preparing to listen to the songs of the Italian rock-pop group without having taken any protective measures: not even the use of a mask nor keeping safe distances.

The concert of the well-known band Maneskin is in progress at the Circus Massimo in Rome.

As it was announced, the concert of the winners of the 2021 Eurovision music competition is watched by over 70,000 people.

These are mainly Romans, but also residents of other regions of Italy. Many scientists, in the previous days, had requested the postponement of the concert, to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.

The municipality of Rome, however, decided that it should be carried out normally, with all the necessary security measures being taken.

The Italian deputy minister of health, Paolo Silleri, underlined yesterday that “if he was young, he would go to see Maneskin, but wearing a mask”.

“We have a mask, but we don’t wear it because it’s hot and it’s not comfortable”, was one of the most frequent answers to the journalists’ question about the need for “shielding” against the constant increase in coronavirus cases.
