Seven were injured and thousands were slightly saved during the third running of the bulls of the San Fermín Festivities in Pamplona.

The goring is the most dangerous wound in Spanish fiestas when the bull’s horns impale the runners.

After the bullfight this morning, a total of seven men (six Spanish and one French) required hospital care, but none were seriously injured.

Initial reports stated that two people were injured in the incident, but Spanish officials later corrected this by stating that the man was dehorned rather than dehorned.

Nobody died, but there were some close calls.

Several runners lost to six bulls and six tame bulls that roared in two and a half minutes in the narrow, winding streets of Pamplona’s old town.

Made famous in the English-speaking world by Ernest Hemingway’s 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises, the popular festival attracts visitors from all over the world.

Thousands of men and a few women participate in the “Enciero”, or bullfight, avoiding large bulls and bulls.

Most people in Pamplona wear traditional white shirts and trousers with red ties and collars for the festival.

Orchids are followed by days of drinking, eating and attending cultural events.

In 2019, the Covid pandemic killed eight people, the last festival before the two-year hiatus.

Since 1910, 16 people have died in the Pamplona Running of the Bulls, the last to die in 2009.

The San Fermín Festival is one of the most famous traditional festivals in Europe, but it is not without controversy.

Although animal rights activists are campaigning against the killing of bulls, bullfighting remains popular with sectors of Spanish society and remains an integral part of the festival.
