Ukraine’s interior ministry adviser, Anton Khraschenko, blamed Russian forces on social media for hitting central Donetsk, but blamed Ukraine.
Two people were killed when Ukrainian forces bombed one bus station in town Donetsk in separatist-controlled eastern Ukraine, the leader of pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and president of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk People’s Republic”, Denis Pushilin, said today.
In a Telegram post, Pushilin said two civilians were killed and three wounded when the bus station was hit by a shell.
Adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Anton Kheraschenko, blamed Russian forces on social media that they hit central Donetsk, but blamed Ukraine.
Reuters video from the scene shows a bus driver dead at the wheel and another body covered in a sheet on the ground.
The city of Donetsk has been under separatist control since 2014, but Ukraine still controls part of the wider Donetsk province, which Russian forces are trying to capture with the help of the separatists.
