‘Naughty’ vicar found guilty of indecent assault after trial at Northampton crown court
A “naughty” vicar has been fined and placed on the sex offenders’ register after he was caught in the nude making out with a vacuum cleaner, Henry Hoover, while wearing women’s pantyhose, the Mirror reports.
The 74-year-old John Jeffsfrom Northamptonshire, England, was arrested by a horrified worshiper who was attending a talk on Asperger syndrome at The Baptist Center in Middleton Cheney in September 2020. Jeffs was found guilty of indecent assault following a court trial of Northampton on Wednesday 13 July 2022.
The witness said that when they passed by his office, they saw the vicar, almost naked, wearing only women’s tights. The court heard that he was “standing between two dark chairs, pushing at a Henry Hoover, that is a vacuum cleaner”.
Jeffs was given an 18-month community sentence and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register. He was also ordered to pay £845 in court costs and £200 in compensation to the victim who witnessed the sexual act.
Defense counsel said the vicar was affected by the loss of his wife at a young age and that while he had diabetes he was not taking his medication and was in a lot of pain.
