However, what undoubtedly attracted the most attention to the decoration, which was supervised by First Lady Jill Biden, are small touches reminiscent of the previous occupants of the White House.
The Bidens placed a frame with a photo of the Trump couple among the photos of other presidential families decorating one of their Christmas trees. This decoration also included greeting cards signed by Donald Trump.
And this despite the competition between the former and the current president. Joe Biden never mentions the name of his predecessor, whom he calls “the other”. And Trump continues to claim that he won the 2020 presidential election.
Once in the White House, Trump ignored some of the usual tactics that signify politeness in the transfer of power: they did not invite their predecessors for tea, and Donald Trump did not invite Barack Obama to the official inauguration ceremony.
The White House strongly insisted that Jill Biden be involved in preparing for the end-of-year festivities, noting that the First Lady requested additional decorations.
