Fahrettin Altun to SKAI: If we wanted tension we would fly over Attica!

“The Mitsotakis-Erdogan communication breakdown will continue” declares the Director of Communication of the Turkish presidency

Ankara is as provocative as ever against Greece. In statements made by the Director of Communication of the Turkish presidency Fahrettin Altun to SKAI’s correspondent in Istanbul, Manolis Kostidis, Altoun not only accused… Greece of overflights in Turkey, but even stated that “if we wanted tension we could do overflights over the peninsula of Attica”(!)

“The communication breakdown between Mitsotakis and ErdoÄŸan will continue,” Altun, who is one of the high-ranking officials of the closed caste surrounding Mr. Tayyip Erdogan and has direct communication with him.

As was clear from the conversation he had with Manoli Kostidi, Turkey is annoyed because Greece is trying to involve third countries in Greek-Turkish issues, “whereas direct dialogue is needed”.

As for her sale of American F-16s Altun expresses optimism. “Their sale will be approved at some point,” he claims, despite the congressional block.

Sticking to Ankara’s hard line, the Turkish official did not rule out searches in the Southeast Mediterranean, without specifying where the searches would take place.
