According to Agence France-Presse, the diamond will be sold at an international auction, “probably at a dazzling price.”
Although the Lulu Rose it will need to be cut and polished to appreciate its true value, a process that can see a stone lose 50 percent of its weight, similar pink diamonds have sold for record prices.
The 59.6-carat Pink Star was sold at an auction in Hong Kong in 2017 for US$71.2 million. It remains the most expensive diamond ever sold.
