Armed officers and snipers ‘guarded’ a police station in West Sussex after a suspicious package was discovered this afternoon, reports Daily Mail.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal Teams immediately set up a 100m perimeter around the area where fire crews, armed police and paramedics also arrived.
Snipers were also positioned on nearby rooftops and lookouts near the station, according to ITV Meridian, suggesting there are concerns the package may be terror-related.
Police say roads in the surrounding areas are likely to be closed for some time and there is an “increased police presence in the area”.
