The ship with the Ukrainian grain continues its course after the inspection in Istanbul

The Razoni, a Sierra Leonean-flagged cargo ship, arrived on Tuesday off the northern shores of Istanbul, in the Black Sea, after having sailed the previous day from Odessa with 26,000 tons of maize bound for Tripoli, Lebanon.

Cargo ship inspection completed Razoni, carrying the first authorized cargo of Ukrainian grain from Ukraine, the Turkish Defense Ministry announced.

After the inspection, which lasted a little less than an hour and a half, “the ship will shortly sail the Bosphorus to go to Lebanon,” the same source clarified.

The inspection took place at the Bosphorus entrance. The expert delegations arrived at the Sierra Leone-flagged cargo ship aboard two speedboats.

The ship will now head to the port of Tripoli in northern Lebanon via the Bosphorus.

The cargo of 26,000 tons of maize carried by the Razoni, which sailed on Monday morning from the Ukrainian port of Odessais the first to be allowed to be exported under the agreement reached on July 22 in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine, brokered by Turkey and under the auspices of the United Nations.

This agreement allows the resumption of Ukrainian grain shipments to world markets under international supervision after the Russian invasion.
