The Prime Minister of Britain Boris Johnson expressed his disgust at the murderous attack on the famous writer Salman Rushdie.

“I am appalled that Sir Salman Rushdie was stabbed while exercising a right which we must never stop defending. My thoughts are with his loved ones at this time. We all hope he is well»Johnson wrote in a message on Twitter.

The perpetrator was stopped by a police officer and arrested.

Salman Rushdie has been airlifted to hospital where he is undergoing surgery, according to the latest update.
