Six-year-old Ethan Biran returned to Italy eighty-four days after his mysterious trip to Israel with his grandfather, his mother’s father.
His grandfather had come to Italy to see little Ethan and had taken him with him to Israel without the permission of the relatives entrusted with the care of the child. The Italian media have repeatedly spoken of a real abduction.
Eitan’s parents and his two-year-old brother were killed when the cable car they were riding in fell in the Motarone area on May 24. They had settled in Italy, where they intended to raise their children.
The six-year-old boy is going to return to Italian school and will live with the family of his aunt (his mother’s sister) Aia Biran.
This concludes a legal dispute that lasted almost three months. After the Italian, the Israeli court ruled that his grandfather had no legal right to take Eitan with him and that, taking into account only the best interests and psychological balance of the child, he should grow up in Italy.
