In a statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry, it accused Ukrainian forces of shelling the Zaporizhia station three times in the past 24 hours.
Ukraine’s state-owned nuclear power company Energoatom announced today that Russia bombed the complex at the Russian-held Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
“Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have again bombarded the area around the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. The process of ascertaining the damages is ongoing,” Energoatom said on Telegram.
In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense, it in turn accused the Ukrainian forces of shelling the Zaporizhia station three times in the last 24 hours.
Russia and Ukraine blame each other for shelling near the station, which sparked fires in ash pits at a nearby coal-fired power plant yesterday, knocking the Zaporizhia station off the grid.
