Two people were killed and two were injured in a shooting at a Kentucky homeless shelter.

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at a homeless shelter that left two dead and two injured.

Police responded to the shooting at the Harbor Home Christian Center in Henderson, Kentucky at approximately 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police who arrived at the scene found four victims with gunshot wounds, one of whom had already died.

Henderson police identified 37-year-old Kenneth Gibbs as the man arrested in the death. He was identified by eyewitnesses at the shelter.

Gibbs was seen walking on a softball field in Atkinson Park on Thursday night. He was still armed with a gun when he was arrested by police.

Harbor Home describes itself as “a safe haven for men in need.” According to police, Gibbs and the four victims lived in a shelter.

Gibbs has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The deceased have been identified as Stephen Watten, 67, and Chad Holmes, 44. The identities of the two injured men have not been released, but authorities say they are both men, one 33 and the other 41. They are hospitalized in stable condition. On Friday.

Police have not specified a motive for the shooting, but have provided context for the situation.

Henderson Police Chief Sean McKinney said: “I think the chapel service had just finished before the shooting.

Governor Andy Beshear spoke about the shootings on Friday morning.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Henderson this morning as senseless violence claimed two lives and injured four,” Beshear said. “Britain and I wish the injured a speedy recovery and thank the brave first responders. We are with you, Henderson.
