A woman fell from a third floor balcony this morning and was seriously injured.

She miraculously survived a fall from a building on Friday, but remains in hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.

Detectives launched an investigation into the incident and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious bodily harm.

An ambulance and at least nine police cars responded to the scene on Regent Road.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said:

“The woman was taken to hospital, but fortunately her injuries are not life-threatening.

“A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and remains in custody.”
