The collapse of the building is believed to be mainly due to the fact that it was “old and dilapidated”, Deputy Prime Minister and Local Government Minister Tawfiq Krishan told the same network, adding that authorities were “inspecting the condition of neighboring buildings”.
Accompanied by ministers, Prime Minister Bisher al-Hassauneh went to the site of the accident in Jabal al-Weibdeh, one of the oldest districts of Amman and known mainly for its cultural life.
“The prime minister has instructed the mayor of the capital to conduct an investigation into the causes of the collapse of this building,” said government spokesman Faisal Sbul.
