French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, who are heading to London for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, will present King Charles with a photo album of the queen’s visits to France, French officials said today.
The Macrons will present King Charles with the album this afternoon when they meet him and several other heads of state and royals at an event at Buckingham Palace.
On Monday, they will attend the funeral of the Queen, who died on September 8 after 70 years on the throne.
“Since the coronation, he has met and spoken to all of our presidents. No other country has had the privilege of welcoming her as many times as we have,” Macron said last week in tribute to the queen, whose last official visit to France was in 2014.
