Brazilian President Zaich Bolsonaro won the title of “Person of the Year for 2021” in TIME magazine based on the votes of his readers, thus surpassing former US President Donald Trump, the front-line health workers, the anti-Russian politician. Navalny and vaccine manufacturers.

Bolsonaru received 24% of the nine million readers’ votes that made him the most influential person (for good or for bad) in 2021.

Last week, Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered an investigation into Bolsonaro’s allegations about a link between the COVID-19 vaccine and the risk of developing AIDS.

The controversial Brazilian president, who will run again in 2022, has also been widely criticized for pandemic management and problems with vaccine supplies.

Former US President Donald Trump came in second with 9%, while 6.3% of readers voted in third place for health workers fighting the coronavirus.

In fourth place was voted by 6% of readers the Russian opponent of corruption and sworn enemy of President Putin, Alexei Navalny.

The scientists who contributed to the preparation of the coronavirus vaccines were voted in the fifth place by 5.3%.

The person of the year will be announced on December 13 based on the Time editors, the magazine announced.

Last year the necessary workers, including doctors, distributors and supermarket employees, were voted Person of the Year by readers because they risked their lives to serve the people when the pandemic was at its height.
