It all started when in an email sent to Eurasia Group subscribers, Ian Bremer claimed that Musk told him that the Russian president was “ready to negotiate” if Crimea remained in Russian hands. The news was then picked up by Vice.
In fact, according to what Ian Bremer reported in it, based on what Musk said he was told, Putin also reportedly insisted to the Tesla CEO that Ukraine should accept permanent neutrality and to recognize the annexation of Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions by Russia.
