“The (employee’s) life is in danger,” the Lausanne police said. – The German woman was kicked out yesterday from the hotel where the victim worked
An Estonian receptionist working at a Lausanne hotel is fighting to stay alive after a German woman doused her in flammable liquid and burned her with a fireplace.
The 38-year-old hotel employee was taken to a hospital and “her life is in danger,” Lausanne police said. He has burns on his face and upper torso.
According to the first data from the police investigation, the perpetrator covered the victim with flammable liquid and tried to burn her with the fireplace. The 44-year-old suspect was arrested a few minutes later in the center of Lausanne and the items she used in the attack were found in her possession.
Swiss media, citing witness statements, report that the German woman was kicked out yesterday from the hotel where the victim worked. “They took her out of our hotel,” the hotel’s manager, Eric Fassbid, told the 24Heures newspaper. “Leaving, he turned to my employee and said to her: you, I will kill you.”
Fassbid emphasized that he had informed the police several times about the “unwanted” visitor. “On Tuesday, we also took a picture of her,” he said.
The German used to sneak into hotels in Lausanne, according to the witnesses. “This is about a woman who was sneaking into hotels, misleading the staff. He was entering through the emergency exit. We often found her in the breakfast room. He never slept in the stairwell or in the luggage storage area. She’s crazy,” Fassbid commented.
