“Based on the first information, there are neither dead nor injured”

An ammunition depot exploded after being hit by Ukrainian shelling in a village in the province of Belgorod, Russia, claimed her captain tonight, Vyacheslav Gladkov.

This province borders Ukraine. Gladov clarified that “based on the first information, there are none neither dead, nor wounded.”

Earlier, the governor blamed the Ukrainians that they bombed an apartment building in this area. A Ukrainian official claimed that a “stray” Russian missile was responsible for the strike.

According to Gladkov, a school was damaged in a village near the border and the top floor of an apartment building was also hit.

The adviser to the Ukrainian president Mihailo Podoliak reported via Twitter that Russia had fired a missile towards Kharkiv but “something went wrong and it hit” the apartment complex inside Russian territory.

A video shows debris next to a 16-story apartment building and a large hole near the roof. Reuters was unable to determine which side was responsible for the strike.

Gladkov said there were no casualties.

The governor of another Russian province, Kursk, said a substation was damaged by the shelling, leaving two villages without electricity. The agency was unable to independently verify this information.
