‘Enough’, Biden Says on Gun Ownership After B.C. Massacre – Calls for Assault Weapons Ban

The Democratic president’s efforts to ban semi-automatic assault weapons have so far met with stiff resistance from Republican lawmakers and senators.

“That’s enough”. The American president Joe Biden reacted in this way, asking once again “to ban assault rifles“, after the new deadly attack on her Rally North Carolina.

“We mourned and prayed alongside the many families who have been forced to bear the horrific burden of mass murder,” Biden said in his statement.

The Democratic president’s efforts to ban semi-automatic assault weapons have so far met with staunch resistance from Republican congressmen and senators.

“The American people are in favor of this common sense measure of removing weapons of war from our streets,” Biden added.

At the North Carolina Rally, a 15-year-old allegedly killed five people and wounded two others, firing indiscriminately into a neighborhood. The motive of the attacker, who is hospitalized in critical condition, remains unclear.

About 49,000 people were killed by bullets in the US in 2021, which equates to more than 130 deaths per day – more than half of them suicides.
