Her government Georgia Meloni was sworn in on Saturday at the presidential palace Kyrinalio. The government team consists of the prime minister, 24 ministers and a deputy minister to the prime minister. In total, six ministers are women. Nine belong to the Brotherhood of Italy, five to the League, five to Forza Italia and five are technocrats. The new prime minister takes office having to deal with the suspicion of the rest of Europe, the shadow of Mario Draghi, the serious problems facing her country and problems with her government partners.

Relatives of the members of the new government were also present in the hall of the Italian presidential palace. Among them, Meloni’s partner, Andrea Jabruno, a journalist for the Berlusconi group, with their six-year-old daughter Ginevra. And Matteo Salvini went to the Quirinale with his partner Francesca and his 2 children.

All the ministers swore that “they will be faithful to the sovereign Republic, that they will faithfully respect the laws and the Constitution and that they will exercise their duties, in the absolute interest of the nation”. Meloni, Italy’s first woman prime minister, was visibly moved as the pen slipped from the hands of Matteo Salvini, the new infrastructure minister, for a few seconds. In the specifics of the day, a small “sardam” by the new foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, during the swearing-in.

Tomorrow at 10:30 a.m., local time, the delivery-receipt ceremony will take place at the government building Palazzo Kitzi, where the traditional “bell” will be handed over by Mario Draghi to Georgia Meloni. At 12 noon, the cabinet will meet, in which it is possible that decisions will be made regarding the special period of energy and economic crisis that Italy is also going through.
