Chaos erupted at midday in central London when 16 Just Stop Oil activists as a sign of protest they sat in the middle of the road holding banners in Piccadilly near Green Park, causing a traffic jam. Dozens of drivers were angered by the behavior of the activists and as a result collided with them in their attempt to remove them from the middle of the road.
The reaction came after two activists were arrested earlier today for the climate after serious damage caused in the morning when luxury car showrooms in Berkeley Square, central London were sprayed with orange paint.
This new intervention by activists comes after a series of attacks they have caused in recent days, such as when they threw tomato soup on a Van Gogh painting in London.
In a video posted on social media by “Just Stop Oil” environmental campaigner Carmen Lynn, she said: “What’s the point of buying and selling luxury cars when people can’t afford to eat or heat their homes ?”
